Now, you may be under the impression that the Spanx range of body-shaping lingerie is only for women who want to ‘hold it all in’. Wrong! It’s not there to make the wearer look three sizes smaller (which brings up the cartoonish image of everything bursting out when the lingerie comes off). Spanx are far from being ‘Bridget Jones knickers’. They are designed to make you look foxy, not frumpy.

Spanx products were created owing to the designer’s desire to deal with the problem of lingerie showing under clothing. Haven’t we all seen or experienced that problem? You have a fab dress for a special occasion, but as you admire your appearance in front of the mirror, it’s spoilt by the dreaded Visible Panty Line … Unless you’re Madonna, who wants people to see your underwear? So Spanx was born.

Again and again, satin comes into fashion. Have you seen those lovely satin dresses in the shops this season? Unfortunately, satin is the most unforgiving of all fabrics as they say. Even the most shapely of women is likely to fall prey to those lines showing through the satin. The solution, however, is simple. Grab yourself a bodysuit or a pair of shaping shorts, and the satin dress will be the star of the show.

Celebrities are always on show, and well aware of the need to look good. Stars such as Anne Hathaway, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gwen Stefani and Bridget Jones herself, Renee Zellweger, all slip into their Spanx to look good on the red carpet. There’s a Spanx product to solve every sartorial problem and stop clinging garments clinging in the wrong places. Bras, panties, camis, slip, bodysuits … even men are not left out, with supportive and flattening undershirts. Plus women can buy hosiery and swimsuits.

Us women like to have many bags. They are accessories and just as important as ear rings. But, did you know that a handbag can flatter your shape just as much as the right pair of jeans? Try out these easy steps to getting bag in agreement to your figure so it can polish up your style in a flash.
Shapes- choose a shape that is the opposite of your body type. If you’re short and rounded, choose a handbag that is tall and rectangular or long and sleek. If you are tall and thin, look for a slouchy, rounded hobo bag to compliment your figure. That doesn’t mean that you have to carry a hard box around to counterbalance your womanly shape: rectangular or square silhouettes in soft leathers or fabrics will do the trick. Scale- the size of the bag should be in proportion to your figure while the shape should oppose your body type.
A shoulder bag’s length (where the bottom of the bag hits your body) will accentuate whatever part of the body it comes near. Women look great with a bag that hits mid-torso, it flatters the waist. Tips- try on handbags in front of a mirror, don’t be tempted by trendy shapes that don’t suit your figure.

To flatter your rectangle shaped figure, will be to maintain the figure balance that you already have. Then create the illusion of a defined waistline so that you look more like the ideal hourglass that we all want. Avoid those styles, such as shifts or trapeze dresses that hide your shape. The exception would be for women who wear those extra-small sizes.
You can always get away with these styles because of your small size. Although, if you’re size 6 or above, you’re better off going with the strategy of creating an illusion of an hourglass figure. For example, avoid styles that tend to over-emphasize either bust or hips. If you wear a gathered skirt, your hips will look bigger and make you bottom-heavy. Likewise, if you wear an off-the-shoulder top, you may find that you appear top-heavy.
Another other big challenge will be to create the illusion of a defined waistline. By placing emphasis on the waist or midriff, you appear to have a defined waistline thus your figure will take on that more shapely look. Wearing straight, dark-wash jeans will makes you look taller.
